Calling all volunteers! Are you looking for an opportunity to participate in and lead innovative educational activities, practice your English, meet new people and support U.S.-Vietnam relations? Well, here’s your chance! The American Center in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking volunteers to help staff a booth at the Ho Chi Minh City Book Fair 2018, one of the largest book fairs in the city.
Date: March 19-25, 2018
Location: Le Van Tam Park, Hai Ba Trung Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
Shift Schedule: 7:30-12:00, 11:30-16:00 or 15:30-20:00

Book Fair 2018 Volunteer Application
Are you looking for an opportunity to participate in and lead innovative educational activities, practice your English, meet new people and support U.S.-Vietnam relations? Here is your chance. The American Center Ho Chi Minh City is seeking volunteers to help with the Book Fair 2018.
Requirements:
– Currently a student in high school or university in Ho Chi Minh City
– Good command of spoken English
– Responsible, sociable and proactive
Responsibilities:
– Assist with event promotion
– Work as interpreters, event leaders, and assist with other activities at the fair
All selected volunteers are required to:
– Commit to work a minimum of 3 working shifts, 4.5 hours / per shift (equivalent of a total of 13.5 hours). There are three working shifts: Morning (7:30am – 12:00pm), afternoon (11:30am – 16:00), evening (15:30-20:00).
– Professional work manners: punctuality, responsibility, good team work.
– Attend mandatory Book Fair training at the American Center (8th Fl, Diamond Plaza, 34 Le Duan, Dist 1) on Friday, March 9, 14:00-16:00.
Volunteers will be trained and will receive letters of recognition.
Who is eligible? American Center members (sign up here) who are current Vietnamese high school or university students.
What will I do? Work at least 3 shifts to support the American Center’s programs and activities at the book fair. Responsibilities include: marketing for the event, working as interpreters, event leaders, assisting with other activities at the event.
