HCMC, April 28, 2016 – The U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and Techgel, a Vietnamese general contractor in technology and M&E, co-organized the “U.S.-Vietnam Aviation Technologies and Services Seminar” in Danang on April 28, 2016. U.S. Consul General Rena Bitter opened the seminar, and speakers included representatives from the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), as well as airport investors and U.S. companies providing aviation technologies and services.
Due to the growing demand of air transport in Vietnam and the subsequent construction of new airports, there is massive demand for airport technologies, equipment, design and engineering services. In that context, the U.S. Consulate General in HCMC organized this event, which connected airport developers in Vietnam with state-of-the-art airport technologies and equipment suppliers from the U.S. The seminar focused on the exchange of best practices on aviation operations, including the application of technology, and the most advanced services in the field of airport construction and operation. Opportunities for cooperation between companies in the aviation industry were also discussed at length.
