Free & Open Source Software (FOSS) is software that anyone can use, modify, and share, without restriction. Popular FOSS projects include Audacity, Drupal, Firefox, LibreOffice, Linux, and WordPress. This talk will explore what FOSS is, why it is important for individuals and businesses, and how anyone can join a FOSS community to develop skills and make the software better.
Clif Kussmaul is currently a Fulbright Specialist at Fulbright University Vietnam. He is Principal Consultant at Green Mango Associates, LLC, which provides consulting on education & software. Formerly he was Associate Professor at Muhlenberg College, Fulbright Specialist at Ashesi University, Fulbright-Nehru Scholar at the University of Kerala, CTO of Elegance Technologies, Inc, and Senior Member of Technical Staff at NeST Technologies, Inc.
