Shim Sham is tap dance is routine that originated in Harlem in the late 1920s and 1930s. At the end of a typical performance, dancers are joined on stage by the musicians and singers for a final dance: the Shim Sham Shimmy. Nowadays, most Swing and Lindy Hop dancers know at least the simplified version to join in the Shim Sham fun at swing dance events around the world. Come learn the Shim Sham taught by Saigon Swing Cats Founder Thuy Uong this October 30 at the American Center.
