The term “Big Data” is a general term used to describe huge datasets that require a massive amount of storage and huge amounts of processing power to make sense of all the data. Professor Nygate from Rochester Institute of Technology will discuss what “Big Data” means exactly, or more importantly, how it affects your life.
LGBT Pride Month: Supreme Court and LGBT Rights

During this June, the U.S. Supreme Court will likely issue its final decision on same-sex marriage rights in the United States. Come learn about the history of LGBT civil rights cases that have argued before the Supreme Court and discuss the American federal system, states’ rights, and the American judicial system. We will talk about typical cases in this field of law and same-sex marriage recognition, such as Bowers v. Hardwick (1986), Lawrence v. Texas (2003), United States v. Windsor (2013), and Obergefell v. Hodges (2015).
